Dear Mission-Partner,
Prayer is a great privilege that we have been given as God's children. We can reach God's heart and petition Him with our desires and requests. It is the desire of CfaN
and hopefully yourself to see Africa saved, washed in the blood of the lamb, redeemed as a continent. This can only be achieved through prayer and obedience (action).
Every 3 months we will feature 3 different countries to focus on in prayer.
Please use this information to pray for the continent of Africa and its amazing, wonderful people.
Also please watch the video message that I recorded earlier this year. We are seeing a massive wave of salvation sweeping across Africa and fully expect
the continuation of the harvest in 2012. We need YOUR help to make this a REALITY, please give a gift towards our work today. Your gift will help ensure the Gospel is proclaimed
in Africa and beyond.
Together we will see Africa saved!
Yours in Christ

Evangelist Daniel Kolenda
Burkina Faso
A land locked country that is poor even by West African standards (Ranked third poorest country in the world by UN).
Burkina Faso has suffered from recurring droughts and military coups since independence from France in 1960.
In 1992 democracy was restored under President Compaore who has won all successive presidential elections as recently as December 2010.
According to a recent census (2006) 60% of the population practice Islam and 23% practice some form of Christianity, Animism is a problem
however with a local saying claiming that "50% are Muslim, 50% are Christian, and 100% are animist." echoing the attitude towards religion.
Population: 16.9million
Main Language: French
Religions: Indigenous beliefs, Islam, Christianity
Has religious freedom
Leader(s): Blaise Compaore (President)
Points for prayer
- Unreached Peoples
Islam is a major religion with over 60% claiming affiliation. Pray for missionaries and indigenous evangelists to rise up and reach the lost.
- Occult Religion
Occult religious practices are accepted even in churches. Pray that the power of the occult will be destroyed off Christ's children and
that they would rise up in opposition of occult practices and walk in spiritual purity before the Lord.
- Poverty
Burkina Faso is very poor and has little resource, the majority of the country is dependant on farming. The country is prone to flooding and drought.
Pray that God would give wisdom to the government in how to grow and diversify the economy and how to enrich the lives of their people and bring them
out of poverty.

Liberia
Liberia is Africa's oldest republic founded by freed American and Caribbean slaves in 1847. Liberians have suffered through two civil wars, the first
lasting from 1989 to 1996 when Charles Taylor was elected into the presidency and then again from 1999 to 2003 when Charles Taylor resigned and went into exile.
Under the leadership of Charles Taylor Liberia became involved in the Sierra Leone civil war with blood diamonds being used to fund the cruel rebel
Revolutionary United Front.
With the departure of Charles Taylor free and fair elections were held in 2005 when the first woman president in Africa, Ellen Johnson,
was elected, she was re-elected in 2011. In 2010 $1.2billon worth of debt was forgiven. There is still a desperate economic situation, corruption is rife and there
is high unemployment and illiteracy.
Population: 4.1million
Main Language: English
Religions: Christianity, Islam, Indigenous beliefs
Has religious freedom
Leader(s): Ellen Johnson (President)
Points for prayer
- Reconciliation among ethnic/religious groups
During the civil wars ethnic groups committed atrocities and massacres against each other. More recently in February 2010 fighting broke out
in the country when a Christian student was killed by Muslim extremists in the north of the country. Healing, forgiveness and reconciliation need to occur
led by the body of Christ.
- Healing for individuals
As a result of the two civil wars most of the population have been victims of or perpetrators of horrific acts of cruelty. Over 65% of the
population were uprooted and lost their homes. There is a great need for the healing of broken hearts and broken lives, and guilt laden conciousnesses.
- Government leadership
Pray for the Liberian government and for President Ellen Johnson as they try to undo decades of corruption and help the economy grow to a place
where it can sustain the people of Liberia. Corruption is a major issue.

Sierra Leone
A former British colony Sierra Leone emerged from a decade of civil war in 2002 and since then has had a functioning democracy.
Reconciliation has been taking place with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission integrating ex-combatants back into society
and bringing peace and healing.
In 2006 90% of the country's debt was written off. The government has and continues to grow and
diversify the economy but there is still much to do to alleviate poverty.
Population: 6million
Main Language: English, Krio
Religions: Islam, Christianity
Has religious freedom
Leader(s): Ernest Bai Koroma (President)
Points for prayer
- Unreached Peoples
An estimated 41% of the population is under 15 with 62% of the population living in rural areas. Pray for strong leadership to arise in the church and for
the youth to be reached, rooted and trained. Islam is a major religion with over 70% claiming affiliation.
Pray for missionaries and indigenous evangelists to rise up and reach the lost.
- Poverty
Sierra Leone suffers from corruption, high unemployment and safety issues. The population long for safety, stability, an employment. The country is
rich in minerals, such as diamonds, but the proceeds of these natural resources does not make it into the hands of the poor.
Pray for growth in the economy that jobs would become available to all. Pray that corruption would be routed out and stopped and that
services and help would be provided for those who need it most.
