Reporting to: UK Director
Location: Halesowen, West Midlands
Hours:  Full time – Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
Salary Range:  £40,000 - £50,000 p.a. + Benefits (Depending on Skills/Qualifications and Experience)

Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a hardworking and passionate Finance Manager to join our staff team in this exciting season of growth and transition in the charity’s development.

Christ for all Nations is the Evangelistic Ministry founded by Reinhard Bonnke and now led by Daniel Kolenda.  For over 40 years we have worked hard to see almost 80 million people sign a decision card professing faith in Jesus Christ.

Do you have

Primary Responsibilities

  • To fully undertake and manage all of the charity’s accounting functions - such as donation processing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, foreign transfer
  • Produce and present reports to inform the UK Director and Marketing Team of finance activities, trends and the associated financial impact
  • Preparing the annual report and consolidated accounts; acting as the main contact with the auditors; submission of charity accounts and other statutory reports
  • Using the current accounting package for reporting (SAGE) and ensuring full integration where appropriate with other packages used throughout the charity
  • The administering of Gift Aid, PAYE, Pensions, Tax, and National Insurance payments to HMRC along with the provision of relevant returns where required
  • To manage, support and facilitate the development of team members and to promote effective team working
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver to a tight reporting deadline
     

Person Specification

Can you plan and manage your own workload and act on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment? Are you flexible when it comes to work and willing to work outside of our core hours when it is needed?  Do you have a high expectation of yourself and others?

You’ll need lateral thinking skills, the ability to interpret and generate reports whilst communicating confidently with your colleagues and charity supporters in an excellent written and verbal manner. It’s important that you have a strong understanding of business and accounting principles and practices and can demonstrate your knowledge and competence.

Education

  • A qualified accountant with management level experience
  • Any person with significant charity finance expertise might be considered
  • Educated at Degree level in a related discipline, e.g. Maths, Business, Finance and Economics

(some flexibility in Education vs experience if you do not meet the above requirements but have strong experience in the role)

Essential Experience

  • Financial and management reporting within a medium sized organisation either in the charitable sector or commercially
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts including liaising with auditors
  • Experience of the payroll function
  • Working knowledge of/Adapt easily to SAGE from other similar accounting packages
  • Working knowledge/Adapt easily to CRM/Finance Systems
  • Capable to understand and build on such systems detailed management reporting
  • Competent and confident in the use of technology with excellent ICT and analytical skills, including knowledge of Excel and the application of formulas

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Gift Aid and processing it
  • Solid understanding of data privacy and protection standards, in addition to financial regulations and compliance
  • Satisfactory employment verification commensurate to the requirements of the role
